I have been making art inside of boxes since I was four years old. I used to take the empty boxes from my parent's checkbook blank refills and make little shrines inside them. I used magazine cutouts, folded paper and drawings which I embellished with glitter, glue, pennies, pencil shavings, scotch tape and soap scraps.
Since then I have been refining the idea of self contained worlds in which objects inhabit space, creating a new poetry of relation. Many of these pieces are wired with electricity for their own light source, creating ambiance both inside and out.
